Chronic boredom....please help!!?

I'm a freshman in college and I feel that I am constantly bored. During the day I always feel like I have nothing to do and nothing to look forward to except the monotony of every day life. Because of this I am a heavy marijuana user simply because I never have anything to do. I know this is not a good solution, but there is absolutely nothing to do on or near campus. Any suggestions? I may join a frat out of desperation simply so I could have a house where I can always party at.
