Earth Quakes: How are they predicted?

i dont really know 2-4 but for 1 i know that it is nearly impossible to predict an earthquake especially in that much time, by the time people realize theres going to be an earthquake its usually too late, oh and i just remembered 4, yes it is caused by chemical differentiation because the less dense matter moves up through the crust and the denser matter stays down near the bottom.
