What could this possibly be?

I very rarely get sick, but one night my throat got soar and my nose got instantly stuffed and I became very tired. I began to develop a cough, sneeze, and yellow phlegm. 3-4 days later, my stuffy nose, soar throat, the sneezing, somewhat of the cough and the yellow phlegm is gone. However, in the back of my throat/nose area I'm congested and am always feel the urge to spit out mucus. My ear always has this strange feeling deep inside and I cant remember if it's swimmers ear or an actual infection. Can anyone give insight if this is a cold or not?
