What is the best usage? "shrivel cells" "wither cells" "wilt cells"?

I'm writing a scientific abstract and would like to ask to native English speakers what is the best term to use? I did some microscopy and see some cells with no intracellular content, and the cell is "dry". The cell is: shrivel or wither or wilt? Thanks all
